Inspiring Tomorrow's Audiences (ITA) 2003 conference
A one day conference for schools, arts organisations, policy makers and advisers
The 2003 conference took place on Monday 20th January 2003. This major event explored the future of arts education in a digital world.
Discussion focused on how arts education can adapt to the interests and expectations of an increasingly
technically literate young audience. What are the real challenges? How can the performing arts attract young people
absorbed in chat rooms and texting? Can education specialists widen online access to the performing arts?
What do students want - and teachers need? What key initiatives are there to support arts educators? What role
might the business sponsor play?
This conference explored the issues and stimulated practical ideas for those charged with inspiring
tomorrow's audiences.
