This is a unique and innovative course led by Greenwich Theatre and Negus Sixth Form Centre that will include the completion of a BTEC First, and a Trinity School of London Musical Theatre Qualification.

We are looking to recruit talented young performers from across South and South East London. Students do not need a background in musical theatre to get onto the course. Aimed at audiences of 13 +, Spark will be the third production in a trilogy of work written by Mary Cooper focusing on parent/child relationships.

M6 Theatre is one of the UK's most creative providers of theatre for young people and is recognised as a leader in its field.

Phoenix Dance Education takes to the road
Phoenix Dance Education take their acclaimed programme of workshops and residencies on tour this autumn. They focus on developing young people's awareness of social, moral and ethical concerns relating to human rights through creative dance activities. The workshops are designed to make strong, cross-curricular links, particularly with Citizenship and can be adapted for students from Year 5 upwards. They use dance to bring a fresh perspective to students' exploration of issues including: Every human's basic rights and the differences between needs, wants and rights; The rights that come with responsibilities; The importance of honesty, trust, tolerance and respect. For information and bookings, call 0113 242 3486. The programme links directly with Phoenix Dance Theatre's autumn tour of Planted Seeds by Darshan Singh Bhuller. Inspired by reports from the Yugoslavian civil war, this powerful, full-length contemporary dance work combines the tragic tale of two lovers with a sensitive portrayal of the fate of many women. The company also presents a lecture demonstration at several venues. The tour opens at The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury on 14 October and ends at The Lowry, Salford on 29 November. Full details are at www.phoenixdancetheatre.co.uk.

Northern Ballet Theatre: Seeking Partners
Northern Ballet Theatre is looking for schools in the Yorkshire, Nottingham and Norwich areas to develop strategic relationships with. We are currently developing a range of imaginative projects with elements ranging from creative movement to cross curricular and multi disciplinary work, teacher inset, and dedicated website access with resources.

We will be able to work on a frequent input over a number of years in which we aim to make a significant, long lasting contribution to children and teacher's lives. Centred on creating narrative dance, our education work aims to challenge pupils creative potential, encouraging self esteem, physical development and offer an insight into the entire workings of a national touring dance company (including for example wardrobe, production and marketing.) This autumn will be a chance to meet up, whilst we are touring half-day and full day workshops following Northern Ballet Theatre performances in your local theatre (for details see www.nbt.co.uk).

If you are interested in finding out more, please contact education@nbtdance.demon.co.uk or call 0113 274 5355.
