Inspiring Tomorrow's Audiences (ITA) - 2003 conference |
The ITA 2003 conference focused on how new technologies will impact on arts education, and the opportunities for, and obstacles to, progress. The conference report is now available on the arts4schools' site and makes for very interesting reading, both for those who attended, and those who weren't able to.
If time is short, you might prefer to read the Executive Summary, which summarises key points and recommendations, including:
- More resources should be developed to help young people understand all aspects of the arts
- A clear professional framework for the teacher/artist/arts educator relationship should be established
- New training opportunities and other support mechanisms to help arts educators should be provided to ensure progress in developing
multimedia resources
- Senior management support for - and understanding of - arts education activities needs to be improved.
The report, and the Executive Summary, can be downloaded from the arts4schools' site here.
