Research into training for theatre workshop leaders
arts4schools was commissioned by the Theatre Unit of Arts Council, England - London office to investigate current training and support for artists who work in the area of TYP (Theatre for Young People) in London. The research had three key elements:
- to develop a list of key qualities (knowledge and skills) required of a TYP workshop leader;
- to research training provision already in existence in London that would help an artist gain the necessary knowledge and skills to become an effective TYP workshop leader (or that would help refresh/bring up to date skills of the more experienced TYP workshop leader)
- to identify and analyse the gaps in the market - and the effect of these gaps.
